TravelRegistry.com.au has been in development since late 2006, and was officially launched in it's 'free state' on Tuesday March 3, 2009. The original idea for this service came from my own experience in organising my own wedding. My fiance and I found that we already had everything we needed at home, so a traditional bridal registry such as Myer or David Jones would be wasted on us. Rather than have our guests buy us gifts that we couldn't really use anyway, we decided that it would be great if they could contribute to our honeymoon in Europe.

We looked around at various other online registry services, some claiming to be honeymoon specific services, but found that they all wanted to charge us a really high percentage of the amount that our guests contributed. This didn't seem fair to us, so, being involved with the web development industry myself I decided to create my own 'honeymoon registry'. This proved very popular with family and friends, so I thought why not help other couples out too?

Since launching in early 2009, the service has become more and more popular by the week. We currently have 142 bridal registries on our system.
